User Action Analysis
The User Action Analysis app from the App Market is a demonstration on how to analyze users on your instance and how they relate and use Datameer. It gives you an overview of processes that are being preformed and information about the actions of users. You can then see more descriptive details on which type of analytics features are being used the most as well as information about how specific users and groups are interacting with Datameer.
Download and Install the User Action Analysis App
The first step in analyzing your Datameer user actions is to install the app from the App Market. As this is a demonstration application, you don't need to configure any settings. Click Run to finish the installation of the application.
The data then starts downloading and the analytics for the workbooks is processed. When complete, there is a green check next to both processes in section 1.
Click on Open Infographic to view a visualization on analyzing user actions within Datameer.
Analysis of User Actions
Overview
The overview infographic displays the most frequent type of action being performed within Datameer and how many actions are being performed during a set time period.
The bottom of the infographic displays useful facts about how your Datameer instance is being engaged.
Analytics
The analytics infographic displays tables showing the most run workbooks and jobs. It details who makes the actions and how often the actions are performed.
The bottom charts give information to what type of actions are being preformed inside of a workbook and how jobs are being triggered.
Users
The last infographic displays information about the system users. You can learn who the most active users are and which roles are performing the most actions.
Get insight into how each of your Datameer users interact with the system.
Customize the App to Show Your Datameer User Action Analysis
The User Action Analysis app comes with demo Datameer user information by default. Perform the following steps to customize this application to give you an analysis of your own Datameer user actions.
- Create a connection to your Datameer server. (You might already have this connection.)
Create a new import job selecting your Datameer server connector and select JSON as the file type.
Choose to import the file named useraction.logFinish the import job and save.
Open the demo workbook named UserActionAnalysis.
Click File and then Exchange Data. Select your new import job with your useraction.log file.
Run the workbook after your data has been exchanged with the demo data.
Open the infographic file. Your data is now be displayed.
If you have reset your database for Datameer without resetting your useraction.log file, problems may occur. When the database is reset and the useraction.log continues to build, duplicate action IDs could be created.
