Connection and Import
The data is gathered from Amazon via the "Amazon EC2" connection. The app uses the connector in order to create two import jobs to analyze data. The first import job looks at the focuses on information on the instances and the second focuses on the costs of the instances.
Workbook
The Amazon EC2 Monitor app uses both import jobs made during the import phase of the app to bring the data into a single workbook. An extension worksheet of both import jobs is made and a common key is created using the name, type, and zone of each instance. With a join key created the data from both import jobs can be used together in order to preform the apps calculations. Â
