Website Traffic
The Website Traffic application uses Google Analytics to illustrate trends in visitors to your website.
Infographics
The app uses six widgets across three tabs to show you different information about visitors to your website:
- On the Where in the World tab, the map and line graph widgets show where visitors to your site are from and also charts the date on which your website had visitors or new visitors.
- On the Visits and Bounces tab, the two widgets illustrate the new visits, visits, and bounces by hour and the rate at which visits to your page are bounced.
- On the Top Sections tab, the two widgets show how many times your site was the top section, and on which dates your website was the top section.
Connection and Imports
The Google Analytics connection is used to bring in information from your website and sorts the specific information into the following four import jobs:
- Site_by_Hour
- Site_Page_Metrics
- Site_Traffic_Timeseries
- Site_Traffic_Visit_Locations
Workbooks
The following four workbooks draw data from the import jobs with the same name, and are used to perform calculations and analysis to make the infographic:
- The Site_by_hour workbook contains the data about when the site was accessed, sorted by hour and by time. This data is used to populate the visits and bounces widgets.
- The Site_Page_Metrics workbook contains the data for the bounce rate widgets, sorting and filtering them to prepare them for use in the widgets.
- The Site_Traffic_Timeseries workbook groups and sorts the data about popular site sections and visits to used in the top sections widgets.
- The Site_Traffic_Visitor_LatLong workbook groups the different latitudes and longitudes and counts the number of visits from each place, then sorts them for the map widget.
