Marketo Metrics

The Market Metrics application uses Marketo analytics to show you where visitors to your web page are from and which visitors are filling out forms.

Infographic

The infographic contains the following four widgets to help you understand the insights of your Marketo metrics:

  • The bar chart widget compares the frequency of different activities including clicking emails, filling out forms, entering new leads, opening emails, and web page visits..
  • The first map widget shows the geolocation of visitors to your web page.
  • The second map widget shows the geolocation of visitors who fill out forms on your web page.
  • The time series line chart displays how many of your emails were opened over time.

Connection and Import

The application connects and imports data using the Marketo API. It also connects to Amazon S3 to query the IP address and geolocation data.

Workbooks

The application uses two workbooks to complete analysis:

  • The IP_To_Geo workbook joins IP address with geolocation data to prepare for the other workbook.
  • The Marketo_Analysis workbook unpacks JSON files of Marketo data. After getting IP address and geolocation data using a join in the IP_Lookup sheet, the analysis separates out activities into web page visits and form data, which then populates them with geolocation data into the two map widgets. This workbook also groups activity type such as email clicks and counts records in each group to provide a summary of records by these groups. The analysis also includes a time component for email activities to show the performance of email activities over time, by performing a self-join, sorting, and using various functions.
