You can set up permissions for import, export jobs, data links, and connections.

To set up permissions for import, export jobs, data links, and connections:

  1. Click the the File Browser tab  tab at the top of the page.
  2. Click the selection you want to set permission for in the navigation window on the left side of the screen.
  3. Click the job that you want to the edit permissions.
  4. Right-click the name of the selected job and select select Information or  or click the Information icon on the tool bar.
  5. The permissions setting is listed at the bottom of the the Sharing section  section of the information page.
  6. Select the owner from the list.
  7. Optionally, add groups and set view, edit, and run permissions for the group.
  8. Click Add Group to add additional groups if desired.
  9. Set view and edit permissions for all users.
  10. Click Click Save.

Related Default Properties

The following flags control the setting of default permissions for new artifacts (RWX, R - read, W - write, X - execute, _ - no permission) in the default.properties file:

The datameer.file.permission.enable.change=true flag allows changing the permissions of each artifact.

  • datameer.file.permission.other.default
  • datameer.file.permission.fulldata.default

The datameerworkbook.filesource.permission.enable.change=true flag allows changing the permissions of each artifact.validation flag controls how permissions for data sources and external sheets are evaluated in a workbook. Other affected functionalities include Undo/Redo and the Workbook Overwrite API.

  • if the property is set to loose source permission, a check will not be performed
  • if the property is set to strict source permission, a check will be performed for the following:
    • access capabilities for the specific entity types
    • read permission or access to full data in the case of an underlying external source sheet
