Configuring Netezza as a Connection

In order to import and export from Netezza, you must first create a connection.

Netezza is IBM's database that is able to run SQL queries. You can use SQL commands to create and manage your Netezza databases, user access, and permissions for the databases, as well as to query and modify the contents of the databases.

Uploading the Database Driver

Set up the database driver in the 'Admin' tab.

Configuring Netezza DB as a Connection

To configure Netezza DB as a connector:

Click the "+" button and select "Connection" or right-click in the browser File Browser and select Create new > Connection.
From drop-down list, select Netezza as the connection type. Click Next.

Fill in the Connection String field with the connection to your Netezza database.
Select whether credentials should be provided or asked for. Add the required user name and password.
Indicate whether the connection should be used for import, export, or both.

If required, add a description and click Save.

Importing Data with a Netezza Connector

"Create New" → "Connection". The "New Connection" tab appears in the menu bar.

Select "Netezza" from the drop-down and confirm with "Next". The type is displayed in the drop-down.

Enter the connection string from the database driver and select the connection usage from the drop-down.

Choose "Provide credentials", enter the username and password from the connection string and confirm with "Next". The 'Save Connection' tab opens.

If needed, enter a description and confirm with "Next". The 'Save Connection' dialog opens.

Select the folder to save the connection, enter a name in "Save as" and confirm with "Save". The connection is saved. Configuring the Netezza connection is finished.
