In order to setup and use Datameer X for your purposes, the following prerequisites must be fulfilled. |
Minimum Recommended Hardware for the Production Environment with a Database on the Same Server as Datameer X:
Required Software:
Datameer X is a Java application and requires an operating system that supports Java Runtime Environment:
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 8+ current minor version
Limit: Currently, the JRE version 12+ is not supported with Datameer X. |
Installed software: SSH, VI, GNU sed, MySQL 5.5 or higher (server and client executables must be available via shell search path)
Datameer strongly recommends using MySQL databases. Datameer service depends on the MySQL database, and it is used for constant writes for workbooks, permission changes, job execution, and scheduling, among other things. For proper function, a response time should be between ten and twenty milliseconds. |
The Datameer X database should be hosted on the same machine as the Datameer X application server. It can be located on a hosted database only if the response time for a full write to the database is less than 20 milliseconds. If during database maintenance the database response can't be guaranteed, you need to gracefully shut down the Datameer X service before maintenance.
Datameer X is supporting recent versions of the managed fully-elastic cloud cluster platform Amazon EMR, Azure HDI as well as Google DataProc. For more details review supported Hadoop Distributions.
The vendor of the Hadoop distribution being used should be available to provide the Hadoop cluster design and sizing recommendations. Helpful links: |
Ensure that the installed JRE on Datameer X Server and all Hadoop compute nodes are exactly the same. |
