Folder level permissions allow you to create an additional layer of security around your data. This feature gives each Datameer user the ability to set viewing and editing permissions for files and folders.

  1. Right-click the folder from the file tree.
  2. Select Cascade Permissions...
  3. A Cascading Permissions dialog box opens.
  4. Under the Owner heading, the owner for the folder, all artifacts, files, and subfolders can be updated. 
  5. Under the Shared with heading, Datameer group(s) names can be selected from the drop down menu.
  6. The selected group(s) are displayed under the Shared with heading with the permission options. 
  7. Select the permissions for the group to cascade to all artifacts, files, and subfolders of the folder.
  8. Click Cascade Permissions.
  9. A conformation is displayed in the top right corner of the screen.

Owners or admins/users with the user role User can see and modify everything on files can view, edit, delete, or rename any file or folder.
